"Apparently Magtein is just what my brain needed. I expected I would experience some benefits at 2 months and increased benefits at 3 months. I gradually made Magtein plus C & D3 part of my daily routine and didn't give it another thought. However, in less than a week I had a great increase in cognitive function. At present, if I miss my 2 capsule dose at bedtime then by the next day midmorning my cognitive function declines. I currently take 1 cap/AM & 2 caps/bedtime. I have been using Magtein for 3 months. I examined all the possibilities and it boils down to the magnesium that is right for my body. It's been 3 months now and, while cognitive function fluctuates to some degree, thus far there has been no return to the extreme challenges I endured previously. My issues: Due to Post Covid Conditions I felt like my brain was wrapped in a blanket and like there was a brick wall between the frontal brain and the rest of my brain. I had lots of days I dared not do things like drive because I could only focus on one thing at a time - I was oblivious to what was present or going on around me that was outside that focus. My cognitive function had been greatly affected first by Long Post Covid Vaccination Syndrome starting in 03/21 and continuing. First I tried a high quality brain supplement that is high in B vitamins and other brain targeting ingredients. I also started a high quality Omega-3. After 10 months, while I'm sure my body benefited, cognitive function was not improving. I had known of Magtein & its study for a year or two but I hesitated because my Dr recommended a standard form of magnesium. Because it caused diarrhea I stopped taking it. Then I tried a high quality broad spectrum magnesium supplement and, while better tolerated, there was no cognitive improvement. There are no "treatment protocols" for Long Vax or Long Covid. I choose to employ alternative strategies. I do my homework concerning these strategies. I refuse to make decisions based in desperation. I believe the Magtein study is solid and based my decision on that and other sources that recommend magnesium for cognitive issues related to PCCs. It's not a cure for my issues but it has helped to achieve a clearer mind. Focus is now accompanied by awareness of things/what is going on around me. The degree of these improvements do fluctuate but thus far have not returned to the previous extreme levels.* That is a gift indeed. *Sidenote: I use a pacing app for my PCC symptoms which means I daily log symptoms via a symptom checker and log drugs or supplements I take. I can do a printout which graphs all of this. This has proven to be a clear to means to to make outcomes 'visible' so that I can compare outcomes vs what I do to help myself."
